Today’s oil of the day has been brought to you by the letters R & C. I keep a fan on at night in order to sleep (I know I’m not the only crazy one out there that does this!) Someone bumped it during the night and this morning I woke up to it blowing in my face…and my sinuses completely congested.
R.C. is a blend made with 3 types of Eucalyptus, Myrtle, Marjoram, Pine, Lavender, Cypress, Spruce, and Peppermint. This oil stands for Respiratory Care…and is pretty powerful….think vapor rub without the menthol. (Precautions should be taken when using on our around Littles under 6 by diluting and should not be used on babies under 2.)
I put a few drops in my diffuser this morning since the heat on upstairs is making everyone stuffy…instantly helping open up my nose. I always have this blend around when we are feeling under the weather (a staple for the winter for sure.) And…it’s one of the 11 oils in the kit!
Today I also continued making some yummy, spicy hot “fire cider” made with organic veggies known for their antibacterial and antiviral properties, mixed in Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. I couldn’t get to my medicinal herb garden after a tree landed on it (thanks hurricane Matthew) but today I finally unearthed some horseradish root. My filtered vinegar will sit with some of the root, then it will be refiltered in cheesecloth, and then drank as is, put in dressing, or added to honey to use as a preventative for stuffy noses and scratchy throats.
