This weekend we finally had some warmer temps,in the 50’s, so we were finally able to head outdoors and assess the mess where our garden is going to go. The previous owner left a huge tarp covered with a big pile of mulch, which decomposed (great compost!)l What a pain digging that out! We looked at our pond and the repairs needed to fix the waterfall, and began plotting where to put the new shed. Our antique woodstove was delivered by friends (free is always great!) but it will be awhile before it goes in since it apparently costs a lot to install! We plan on planting a bed of strawberries – the only thing we had luck with in the ghetto so figured they will grow wonderfully here! Corn, onions, peppers, green beans, carrots, lettuce, butternut squash, heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, and an herb garden are all on the agenda…not sure what we will actually get to this year. The chicken laid 2 eggs this weekend! We did not eat them since we don’t know how long they were in the barn. Now we know to be on the lookout. Welly stepped on my foot on Friday and caused some bruising but that was it. We have not been able to get out there and spend time training him yet but he Moos for me to bring him a treat every afternoon. 🙂
