Well, the summer just seemed to somehow run away from me. I’m not sure where the time went…somewhere in between all my chores and time vending at farmers markets, it disappeared. I had been sitting here, aggravated by all the things I didn’t get to and realized I should be thankful for all the things I did! What better way than through pictures…
Places we went:

The Virginia Zoo, Monticello, swimming with friends, Portsmouth Children’s Museum, a week in Ocracoke NC, Norfolk Tides Game, Colonial Williamsburg and plenty of farmer’s markets.
Farm Life:

Canning, canning, more canning and pickling, dehydrating, freezing, wool dyeing, cheese making, goat milking, soap making, gardening, berry picking, bee keeping, baking….wow! We acquired new bees and turkeys. We fought with colony collapse of our old hive, baby turkey deaths, rodents in the garden, a wasp infestation, and other garden pests.
So many things we have to be thankful for. We made it through another summer! Time to say goodbye to the warmth and get ready for the cold months to come. (The Farmers Almanac says its going to be a doozy!) Fill those pantries and get the woodpile ready!
