Yup…I’ve got ’em. This issue where my hands are in everything, my head is spinning, and the other part of me wants to kick back on a beach…Welcome to the Summer Crazies. Back when I had a 9 to 5 and was stuck in a cement building all day this only appeared on the weekends but little did I know how bad it would get if I was home all day!

The problem is I need to clone myself. First there would be the homesteading me: the one picking blueberries, going to produce auctions, picking weeds & planning the fall garden, contemplating blossom end rot and rodent problems, canning, freezing, chopping, dehydrating, reviving our dying beehive after the queen disappeared and small hive beetles attacked, worrying about a new animal shed, etc, etc. Maybe that’s enough for 2?

Then there needs to be a business me. The one making 800 bars of soap, wrapping, making labels, planning festivals, creating new products, marketing, keeping track of schedules/orders/website, answering questions, calling about supplies(where are my bottles I ordered 3 weeks ago?), planning for the holidays, etc,etc

Then there is the housewife me…the cleaning (that never gets done!) The mommy and wife. The chef making dinner every night and cleaning up after. The mommy part I will keep (as long as I don’t have to keep my child from playing in the fountain at the Town Center). The mommy also needs to make time for playing, watching cartoons, and helping to go over reading and math problems so we don’t fall behind over the summer.

Then I need a social clone. Yes…someone that will answer the phone, texts, and the front door when friends, neighbors, and even strangers come calling. Seriously this happens daily and I love my life and all the people in it but stopping to tell someone I don’t want another rooster really breaks into the productivity of the day (whether my hands are in soap, canning tomatoes, or doing the laundry, etc). But if my business clone is working, and my homesteading clone is canning, then my social clone has plenty of free time for guild meetings and going to the movies!

That just leaves me to put up my feet with a good book, a cold drink, and listen to the waves on the beach (preferably in Ocracoke).

OK so there isn’t a clone machine and this is just the craziness of my multifaceted personality. The Summer Crazies are just the fullness of my life running over and I am so grateful for my “crazies”. Come on over and step through the mess. Especially if you have a cold glass of sangria! Hello summer!
